By purchasing a gift from The X Shop, you're helping to amplify the talents of X Artists who share their truth through multimedia art and stories... ultimately, to activate connection and eradicate oppression.

"The Sweet and The Sour" by Sarah McPherson, a 2Spirit and non-binary experimental media artist from Couchiching First Nation, is one of a series of photographs created using an experimental film process called "Film Soup." This process is a very broad and open-ended experimental photography medium that allows the voices of non-verbal elements to take a new visual shape.

In Sarah's work, she aims to explore the relationships we all have with the land and waters around us. In a modern world dominated by technology and amenities, it’s easy to believe that we are separate from the natural world; her work is an exploration of how untrue that really is. To learn more about Sarah and her creative process, click here
